Figma has opened an office in Bengaluru and will begin hiring in India, its second-largest active user market. The AI-powered design and product platform, which earns about half its revenue outside the US, expands its global footprint and deepens local ties. Customers in India already include Airtel, CARS24, Groww, Myntra, Swiggy, TCS, and Zomato.
Figma, the collaborative design and product development platform, has opened an office in Bengaluru as it begins local hiring. India is now Figma’s second-largest active user market, reflecting strong adoption across product and engineering teams. Headquartered in San Francisco, the company has always served a global community, with over 85% of its users located outside the United States. In 2024, about half of Figma’s revenue came from international markets, underscoring its global demand profile.
“We Want to Get Closer to Our Users”
The company’s move to Bengaluru is squarely aimed at proximity and community. “Today, India is our second-largest active user market. As it evolves into a global software and manufacturing hub, the value of design will only grow,” said Scott Pugh, APAC Vice President of Sales at Figma. He added, “We’ve seen increasing demand from Indian companies, and with the office opening, we want to get closer to our users and the community here.”
AI-Powered Stack, Now Locally Supported
Figma has evolved from a design tool into an AI-powered platform spanning end-to-end product workflows—from ideation to build. Its flagship products, Figma Design and Dev Mode, are now available to Indian customers, enabling designers and developers to collaborate in real-time, reduce rework, and translate designs into production-ready code more efficiently. With on-ground presence, the company aims to improve support, onboarding, and enterprise governance for Indian teams.
Hiring and Community as Growth Levers
Beyond go-to-market and customer success roles, Figma’s India team is expected to engage directly with design leaders, developers, and startups to strengthen local enablement. The opening “brings new job opportunities as Figma grows its footprint in India” and signals deeper investment in workshops, meetups, and education programs for the design and developer ecosystem. Bengaluru’s talent density, SaaS maturity, and enterprise demand make it a natural hub.
Penetration Across India and a Blue-Chip Roster
Figma already serves users in 85% of India’s 28 official states (as of Q3 2025) and counts Airtel, CARS24, Groww, Juspay, Myntra, Swiggy, TCS, and Zomato among its customers. The new office complements a broader global expansion that includes New York, Tokyo, Singapore, London, Paris, Berlin, Sydney, and São Paulo—now with Bengaluru joining the list. For India’s design-forward companies, the move promises tighter feedback loops, faster adoption of AI-assisted workflows, and more reliable enterprise support
What It Means for India’s Product Economy
Figma’s local presence aligns with India’s ascent as a product-building powerhouse. As teams ship faster and scale globally, demand grows for collaboration platforms that compress the path from concept to code. With hiring underway and community programs on the horizon, Bengaluru is set to become a strategic node in Figma’s global network—and a catalyst for India’s design and developer innovation.
