Awfis has expanded its footprint in South India, launching 11 new centres with 8,000 seats across Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kochi. This $10 million investment boosts its national presence to 150 centres, offering modern workspaces in key business locales.
In a strategic move to capitalise on the burgeoning coworking market in South India, Awfis, a leading provider of managed office spaces, has announced the addition of 11 new centres, introducing 8,000 seats across key cities, including Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kochi. This expansion represents a significant investment of $10 million, shared between Awfis and its landlord partners, marking a significant step in the company’s growth strategy.
Amit Ramani, CEO and founder of Awfis emphasised the strategic nature of the expansion, stating, “This expansion aligns with our strategic approach to target emerging business hubs, offering an enhanced workspace experience through our diverse range of products and services.” His comment underscores the company’s commitment to fostering productive environments in regions known for their IT and startup ecosystems.
With its robust IT and startup presence, Hyderabad benefits notably from new centres such as DSL Uppal, Madhapur, Banjara Hills, and the Financial District. Similarly, Awfis has bolstered its presence in Bengaluru with additional Whitefield, ORR, and Chennai centres along the bustling OMR. Kochi has been included, with new facilities on MG Road and KRL Road.
This expansion brings Awfis’s total to 42,000 seats across the southern region, which comprises approximately 48% of its total portfolio spread over 62 centres. This strategic distribution supports Awfis’s aim to integrate more deeply into the region’s commercial fabric, providing flexible and scalable workspace solutions to a growing number of professionals and businesses.
The overall network of Awfis now encompasses 150 centres with 88,000 seats across 17 cities, signalling a robust infrastructure capable of supporting India’s dynamic workforce. The company’s latest moves indicate a more significant trend in the flexible office space industry, where demand continues to surge amid shifts towards more agile and decentralised work models.
Awfis’s rapid expansion in South India not only caters to the immediate needs of the local markets but also sets a precedent for how managed workspace providers can effectively respond to the evolving demands of modern businesses. With a strong foothold in significant business hubs, Awfis is well-positioned to continue its trajectory of growth and innovation in the coworking space sector.
