Datadog Expands Bengaluru Operations Amid Surging Demand in India’s Tech Ecosystem

Datadog is rapidly expanding its presence in India with a new headquarters in Bengaluru and a growing team. The company is seeing strong adoption across sectors, investing in local talent, and aligning with India’s tech-forward momentum. Its AI-powered tools and unified security platform drive significant growth in the region.

Bengaluru Becomes a Strategic Hub

Datadog, a global cloud monitoring and security leader, is significantly strengthening its foothold in India with its new headquarters in Bengaluru. According to Rob Thorne, Vice President for Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), the city is now a “major strategic hub” for the company, housing nearly 100 professionals and supporting growing regional demand. “Over the past 18 months, we’ve seen unprecedented customer demand,” he noted during the DASH 2025 conference in New York.

Broad-Based Adoption Across Industries

The adoption of Datadog’s observability tools in India has accelerated across sectors. While digital-first companies are leading the charge, traditional industries like banking, manufacturing, and retail are also embracing the platform. Thorne emphasised, “We’re seeing uptake from startups, mid-sized firms, and large enterprises.” One of India’s top two food delivery companies is among Datadog’s clients, alongside Jubilant FoodWorks, which uses the platform to streamline monitoring and reduce resolution times.

Rapid Team Expansion and Continued Investment

Datadog’s India operations have expanded rapidly. “Just two years ago, we had one seller in India. We have over 40 professionals across sales and support functions today,” Thorne shared. The company has already invested in new office space in Bengaluru, signalling ongoing growth plans as market demand rises.

Navigating Compliance and Embracing Local Talent

As India enforces stricter data privacy and localisation requirements, Datadog is actively working to meet compliance expectations. “We understand this is a priority for the market and are exploring ways to meet local standards,” Thorne said. Indian tech talent is playing a key role in this growth, with the company hiring for sales and pre-sales, post-sales, and support roles. While core engineering operations haven’t shifted to India yet, Thorne expressed optimism: “The talent pipeline is strong.”

AI, Cybersecurity, and Future Outlook

India’s growing appetite for advanced technologies aligns well with Datadog’s AI-driven observability and security tools. The company is seeing increased traction among tech-forward businesses, from GPU-level monitoring to end-user analytics. “India is highly receptive to cutting-edge tech,” Thorne noted. On the cybersecurity front, Datadog is helping Indian firms integrate DevOps with security for better threat detection and response. “Our unified approach covers posture management, detection, and resolution,” he added.

Positioning for Long-Term Growth

With Bengaluru at the centre of its India operations and continued investment in people and infrastructure, Datadog is positioning itself for long-term regional success. As Thorne summed up, “Digital-native companies are our biggest opportunity… We aim to support them through that journey.”
