NCRTC launches MetroDesk, India’s first co-working space inside Ghaziabad Namo Bharat Station. Featuring high-speed internet, private cabins, and innovative tech, it transforms transit hubs into productive business centres. Strategically located with seamless access, MetroDesk offers a future-ready workspace, blending convenience and connectivity for professionals on the move.
In a pioneering move to redefine urban transit spaces, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is opening MetroDesk, a first-of-its-kind coworking facility inside the Ghaziabad Namo Bharat Station. This innovative workspace aims to blend mobility and productivity by transforming a busy transit hub into a vibrant business ecosystem for professionals, entrepreneurs, and small businesses in Ghaziabad and neighbouring areas.
Situated in the station’s concourse, MetroDesk offers a thoughtfully designed work environment with 42 open workstations, 11 private cabins, and two meeting rooms. The space can simultaneously accommodate 42 individuals and 11 companies, benefiting from high-speed internet and plug-and-play setups to ensure uninterrupted productivity. By positioning the workspace inside a transit hub, NCRTC aims to slash commute times and provide seamless accessibility, making it easier for professionals to balance travel and work.
The Ghaziabad Namo Bharat Station, strategically located at the busy intersection of key roads on the Ghaziabad-Meerut route near Meerut Tiraha Mor, enjoys excellent connectivity, including links to the Shahid Sthal Delhi Metro Station. This prime location sees heavy daily footfall, making it an ideal spot to nurture a coworking culture integrated with transit services. NCRTC’s broader vision includes earmarking commercial spaces across and around Namo Bharat stations to boost passenger amenities while creating non-fare revenue streams.
Beyond traditional coworking features, MetroDesk incorporates state-of-the-art technology for a seamless and secure user experience. Access to the workspace is managed through biometric entry and digital key cards, eliminating entry hassles and enhancing safety. A dedicated digital platform will simplify reservations, membership management, and enable cashless transactions.
The workspace is IoT-enabled, delivering bright lighting, climate control, and automated meeting room scheduling. It also supports video conferencing, wireless screen sharing, and tech-enhanced brainstorming zones. Reliable fibre-optic internet guarantees lag-free virtual meetings, while QR-code scan-and-use facilities make hot desk booking, vending machine access, and feedback collection effortless.
This initiative is part of NCRTC’s larger strategy to convert transit stations from mere travel points into dynamic business hubs, generating economic activity and setting a modern standard for urban transport infrastructure. The MetroDesk at Ghaziabad Namo Bharat Station promises a future-ready coworking experience ideally suited to today’s workforce’s fast-paced, connected lifestyles.
The Namo Bharat Corridor spans 55 kilometres from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South across eleven stations. The 82-kilometre corridor, integrated with the Meerut Metro, is slated for completion by 2025, further expanding opportunities to fuse transit and workspace innovation across the National Capital Region.
With MetroDesk, NCRTC is transporting people and empowering them to work smarter, right where their journeys begin and end.
