Shivalik Curv: INI Design Studio’s Twisting Tower Redefines Ahmedabad’s Skyline

Shivalik Curv, a 32-story twisting office tower in GIFT City, Ahmedabad, blends bold architecture with sustainability. Designed by INI Design Studio, it features a 38-degree floor rotation, energy-efficient systems, and green terraces. The landmark office space embodies innovation, flexibility, and eco-conscious urban development, redefining India’s workspace landscape.

An Architectural Marvel in GIFT City

Ahmedabad’s skyline is set to welcome a striking new addition with Shivalik Curv, a 32-story, 120-meter-tall office tower designed by INI Design Studio in GIFT City. Featuring a twisting, 38-degree rotational shift on each floor, the structure leans 25 meters over its height, offering an unconventional yet functional workspace. Designed to symbolise fluidity and progress, the tower is poised to become a landmark for sustainable, high-performance office spaces in India’s first operational Greenfield smart city.

A Vision of Movement and Progress

Shivalik Curv’s rotational geometry and curved lines set it apart in Gujarat International Finance Tech City (GIFT City). The design is inspired by human movement, reflecting a sense of dynamism and evolution—a concept that resonates with the fast-growing finance and technology sectors that the city houses.

“The client envisioned a high-performance office tower that would contribute a unique identity to the area,” explains INI Design Studio. “Its distinct rotational form symbolises movement and progress, fostering collaboration within the surrounding urban fabric.”

To seamlessly integrate the tower into its surroundings, the design extends its curved lines into public plazas and driveways, creating an interactive urban space. Sculptural elements at key points reinforce a cohesive architectural language, enhancing the connection between the building and the city.

A Perfect Balance of Art and Functionality

Beyond its aesthetics, Shivalik Curv is engineered for practicality and efficiency. The flexible floor plans cater to diverse tenants—from startups to global corporations—allowing for custom workspace configurations. A centralised service core and exoskeleton frame support the tower’s torsional geometry, ensuring stability and visual appeal.

A key feature of the building is its 107-meter-tall atrium, designed to maximise natural daylight penetration while reducing the need for artificial lighting. This open space enhances energy efficiency and creates a visually stunning focal point in the tower’s interior.

Sustainability at the Core

Aligned with GIFT City’s eco-conscious urban development goals, Shivalik Curv prioritises sustainable design through multiple green initiatives:

  • Energy-efficient cooling systems to reduce operational energy consumption.
  • Solar panels generate renewable energy, decreasing reliance on conventional power sources.
  • Rainwater harvesting to optimise water conservation and sustainability.
  • A green terrace on the third floor is an urban oasis that enhances the tower’s thermal performance.

The rooftop restaurant and terrace further elevate the user experience, offering panoramic views of the Sabarmati River and the GIFT City skyline, blending work with leisure in a dynamic office environment.

A Landmark for Smart City Growth

Shivalik Curv is more than just an architectural statement—it symbolises modern, sustainable urban development. By combining cutting-edge engineering, flexible office solutions, and eco-conscious initiatives, INI Design Studio has set a new benchmark for office architecture in India.

With its bold form and forward-thinking design, Shivalik Curv is poised to redefine the future of workspace innovation, making GIFT City an even more attractive destination for global businesses and enterprises.
