Smartworks Expands Pune Portfolio with New 6 Lakh Sq Ft Coworking Hub

Smartworks has leased a 6 lakh sq ft tower in Pune’s Balewadi, expanding its managed office portfolio to over 3 million sq ft in the city. The new coworking hub will open in October and offer over 8,000 desks, catering to the rising demand for flexible office spaces post-pandemic.

Smartworks, a leading managed workspace platform, has significantly expanded its presence in Pune by leasing an entire tower in Balewadi. This new space, spanning 6 lakh square feet and 14 floors, is part of the upcoming 43 EQ commercial tower near Balewadi High Street. The long-term lease agreement extends for 15 years and takes Smartworks’ total managed workspace portfolio in Pune to over 3 million square feet.

Our growth in Pune has been outstanding,” said Neetish Sarda, founder of Smartworks. “This expansion aligns with our aim to empower businesses by offering them tailored office solutions to boost productivity and foster growth in a professional, fully equipped and managed setting.

Aiming for October Launch

Smartworks plans to commence operations at the new coworking hub by October. Once operational, the hub is expected to accommodate over 8,000 desks, providing ample space for businesses of various sizes. This move reinforces Smartworks’ commitment to providing flexible and dynamic office solutions to large organisations, unicorns, and established enterprises. Currently, Smartworks serves over 550 clients across 13 cities, managing more than 39 centres and spanning over 8 million square feet.

The new office space is designed to offer a conducive environment for enhanced productivity, collaboration, and networking. The facility will support sector-agnostic large enterprises and dynamic startups to meet modern businesses’ needs.

Rising Demand for Flexible Workspaces

The Indian market has emerged as a fast-growing hub for flexible office spaces, driven by the increased need for adaptable workspace solutions from large corporations and startups. The COVID-19 pandemic has further accelerated this trend as businesses seek economical and versatile solutions in a shifting work environment.

Several factors contribute to the escalating demand for flexible office spaces, including the expansion of startup ventures, evolving work environments, and the adoption of remote and hybrid working models. Companies increasingly recognise the benefits of flexible workspaces in optimising costs while providing their employees with safe, efficient, and collaborative environments.

Future Outlook

This trend is expected to continue as more businesses understand the advantages of flexible office solutions in an ever-changing business landscape. With its latest expansion, Smartworks is well-positioned to meet the growing demand for coworking spaces, providing tailored solutions that support business growth and productivity.

Smartworks’ strategic expansion in Pune highlights its dedication to empowering businesses through innovative office solutions, reinforcing its position as a leader in the managed workspace industry.
