Sumadhura Group Enters Coworking Arena with New Brand ‘Workship’ in Bengaluru

Sumadhura Group has launched its coworking brand ‘Workship’ with a 1.3 lakh sq ft centre in Bengaluru’s Whitefield. Targeting corporate clients, the firm plans to expand to 5 lakh sq ft this fiscal. The move taps into rising demand for premium managed workspaces across IT, agri-tech, and pharma sectors.

Real estate developer Sumadhura Group has launched its first coworking venture under a new vertical called ‘Workshop,’ marking a strategic entry into India’s growing flexible workspace sector. The company’s debut centre, which is spread across 1.3 lakh square feet, is located in Whitefield, Bengaluru, within its commercial complex, Capitol Towers.

“India is witnessing a significant shift in how workspaces are perceived and utilised, with a growing demand for high-quality, flexible, and premium managed office spaces,” said Madhusudhan G, Chairman and Managing Director of Sumadhura Group. “Bengaluru and Hyderabad are leading this transformation.”

The workshop primarily caters to corporate clients seeking premium, fully managed office environments. The new workspace is priced at approximately ₹15,000 per desk, aligning with market expectations for high-end coworking offerings in prime business hubs.

With strong interest from IT/ITeS, agri-tech, and pharmaceutical sectors, Sumadhura is positioning itself to serve evolving workplace needs. Madhusudhan noted, “There is a strong interest from sectors such as IT/ITeS, agri-tech, and pharma,” signalling the broad appeal of the new platform.

The company plans rapid expansion, with three more centres expected to open by the end of the fiscal year. Once completed, Workship’s total footprint will reach 5 lakh square feet. Future locations will include both Sumadhura-owned properties and leased spaces from third-party developers.

Sumadhura Group has a well-established presence in South India’s real estate market, delivering 54 projects covering more than 13 million square feet, primarily in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. This new move diversifies its portfolio and taps into a booming commercial real estate segment: managed and flexible office spaces.

As demand surges for agile work environments in urban centres, Workshop is poised to become a key player in India’s coworking landscape, starting with Bengaluru’s dynamic Whitefield district.
