Technopark Expands with New IT Spaces, Paving Way for 50,000 Jobs

Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram’s IT hub, is set for a major expansion across Phases I, III, and IV, creating around 50,000 new jobs. Ongoing projects by Brigade Group, Taurus Investment Holdings, and TCS are transforming the region into a dynamic tech corridor, reinforcing Kerala’s position as a leading IT and innovation destination.

Thiruvananthapuram’s Technopark is undergoing one of its most ambitious growth phases yet, with several large-scale projects across Phases I, III, and IV that aim to generate nearly 50,000 new IT jobs. “The new IT spaces will be a game-changer for the city’s technology ecosystem,” said Sanjeev Nair, CEO of Technopark.

He added, “Presently, we are focusing on optimal utilisation of available land parcels and completion of ongoing infrastructure projects. Once these reach full utilisation, additional expansion will be considered based on feasibility studies, demand assessment, and availability of encumbrance-free land.”

Phase I: Brigade Group Leads the Way

In Phase I, the Brigade Group is spearheading multiple developments, including Brigade Square, a 1.85 lakh sq ft IT building nearing completion, expected to become operational in the coming months. The company is also preparing to launch construction of the World Trade Centre, with a built-up area of 1.5 million sq ft, further amplifying the region’s global business appeal.

Two additional projects—Kallayi (50,000 sq ft) and Chaliyar (50,000 sq ft)—are set to expand Technopark’s capacity for GCCs (Global Capability Centres). Chaliyar, expected to be ready by December 2025, will operate as a coworking and managed space under the “GCC Boilerplate” model, enabling rapid setup for multinational corporations.

Furthermore, Caspian Techparks India Pvt Ltd is developing an additional 1 lakh sq ft IT building within the Phase I campus, currently in the design stage.

Phase III: Taurus Downtown and Global Connectivity

Technopark’s Phase III continues to attract marquee developers. Taurus Investment Holdings India will soon begin the second phase of its Taurus Downtown Trivandrum Project, following the success of the Niagara Building, which delivered 1.5 million sq ft of leasable space now fully occupied by Fortune 500 firms and GCCs.

Adding to the ecosystem’s vibrancy, Global Public School has opened admissions for its new Phase III campus for the 2026 academic session, offering top-tier education within the tech cluster.

Phase IV: TCS and the Quad Project Drive Future Growth

In Phase IV, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is leading development with a 1.2 million sq ft campus expected to be completed by January 2026. Alongside TCS, the Quad Project is set to commence soon with its first IT building, further expanding Thiruvananthapuram’s high-tech footprint.

Technopark has also received multiple Expressions of Interest (EoIs) for land leasing in Phases III and IV, indicating sustained investor confidence in Kerala’s IT infrastructure.

Kerala’s Expanding Tech Landscape

Over the past six years, Kerala has added 46.47 lakh sq ft of IT space, including 20.97 lakh sq ft in Technopark, 22.62 lakh sq ft in Infopark, and 2.88 lakh sq ft in Cyberpark. These developments collectively generated 45,869 new jobs, showcasing the state’s accelerating digital economy.

As Technopark evolves into a next-generation tech destination, its focus on GCCs, sustainable infrastructure, and coworking-led flexibility positions Thiruvananthapuram among India’s most promising IT growth corridors.
