Google and the Telangana government have opened the Google for Startups Hub at T-Hub in Hyderabad, offering AI-driven startups a full year of free coworking space, global mentorship, and access to Google’s tech stack. The initiative strengthens the region’s innovation ecosystem and aims to empower founders across Telangana, including tier-2 cities.
Google has expanded its global startup footprint by partnering with the Telangana government to launch the Google for Startups (GfS) Hub at T-Hub, Hyderabad. This is Google’s first dedicated startup hub in India, designed to accelerate AI-led entrepreneurship while providing founders with modern workspace infrastructure and high-value global mentorship. The partnership positions Hyderabad as a strategic innovation hub, blending flexible workspace models with deep-tech incubation.
A Coworking-Driven Boost for AI Innovation
A core highlight of the initiative is its emphasis on workspace accessibility. Selected startups will receive a full year of free coworking space inside T-Hub, one of India’s leading innovation and incubation centres. This move underscores how flexible, innovation-ready work environments are becoming essential tools for building competitive AI products.
Telangana’s IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu highlighted the role of such partnerships in strengthening the state’s tech landscape, emphasising that the new hub will help startups “build great technology products” while expanding their capacity to innovate.
The facility is built not just as a workplace but also as a collaborative arena where founders, technologists, investors, and partners can connect through shared zones, networking lounges, and event spaces—hallmarks of the evolving coworking ecosystem.
A Pipeline of Global Expertise and AI Capabilities
As part of the global Google for Startups network, the hub will enable early-stage companies to access Google’s experts in AI/ML, product development, and UX. Founders will receive tailored mentoring, hands-on technical guidance, and exposure to global startup best practices. Beyond technical support, startups will also gain visibility among curated venture investors, adding another layer of value for growth-stage founders.
The initiative includes strong support for women entrepreneurs and innovators from tier-2 and tier-3 cities, ensuring that high-quality workspace and mentorship are not restricted to major metros.
Sanjay Kumar, Special Chief Secretary of Telangana’s IT Department, called the collaboration a strategic step forward, noting that it ensures innovators across the state can “access world-class resources without leaving the state.”
Coworking as Strategic Infrastructure for Startups
By situating the hub within T-Hub, Google highlights how flexible workspace environments are evolving into foundational infrastructure for the startup ecosystem. These hubs serve as breeding grounds for experimentation, shared knowledge, and community-led learning—elements that young companies need before scaling into full commercial offices.
Google India’s country manager, Preeti Lobana, emphasised that the partnership enables the company to bring its AI capabilities on Google Cloud and other platforms directly to local founders. This aligns with Google’s broader plan to deepen its AI and developer ecosystem presence across India.
Strengthening Telangana’s Innovation Ambitions
With this launch, Telangana continues its push to build one of India’s most future-ready startup ecosystems. The new hub strengthens the state’s ambition to support emerging technologies while reinforcing Hyderabad’s position as a leading centre for flexible workspace innovation and deep-tech growth.
