Godrej Interio, a leader in India’s home and office furniture sector and part of the Godrej Enterprises Group, has successfully delivered an exceptional office and amenity block for Skechers’ National Distribution Center (NDC) in Navi Mumbai. This state-of-the-art project marks Skechers’ first proprietary warehouse in India, which stands out for its impressive 18-meter height, making it one of the largest of its kind in the country.

Situated within the Lodha Industrial Logistic Park Phase-II, Taloja MIDC, the facility spans 48,670 square feet. Godrej Interio’s Design & Build Projects team was entrusted with creating a space that aligns with Skechers’ operational demands and brand ethos. “This collaboration with Skechers exemplifies our commitment to delivering exceptional design and build solutions across diverse sectors,” said Swapneel Nagarkar, Senior Vice President & Business Head at Godrej Interio.

One of the project’s most notable innovations was the use of a custom MS grid structure at a height of 3.6 meters. This unique solution facilitated efficient service installations and maintenance while achieving the required 6.4-meter ceiling height for the space. The outcome is a functional and visually striking environment that embodies modern industrial aesthetics.

Godrej Interio’s meticulous design ensured every project element resonated with Skechers’ identity and operational needs. Key highlights include:

• Grand Reception Lobby: A double-height ceiling greets visitors, creating an impressive entryway that sets the tone for the rest of the facility.
• Industrial Aesthetic: The design incorporates corrugated sheet cladding for meeting rooms, a dynamic interplay of colours and forms, and an overall modern industrial vibe.
• Strategic Cabins: Thoughtfully designed cabins offer a direct view of the warehouse, reflecting Skechers’ focus on activity and movement.
• Sustainable Cafeteria: A vibrant cafeteria with ergonomic furniture, green elements, and kitchen props adds functionality while adhering to IGBC green building guidelines.

The project also prioritised sustainability, following green building principles to ensure an environmentally responsible workspace.

Comprehensive Scope of Work

The extensive scope of work encompassed:

• Interior solutions, including masonry, partitions, and MS works.
• Finishing touches like painting, panelling, wall claddings, and acoustic treatments.
• Specialised areas like the cafeteria, sanitary facilities, and landscaped green walls.
• MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems, including HVAC, mechanical ventilation, and electrical infrastructure.
• Branding elements such as vinyl graphics and logo installations reinforce Skechers’ identity.

This holistic approach ensured that the facility met operational requirements and provided employees with an aesthetically pleasing and functional workspace.

Godrej Interio’s projects currently contribute 26% of its B2B turnover and are expected to grow at a CAGR of 30% until FY25.
