UrbanVault Strengthens Tech-Driven Expansion with CTO Appointment

UrbanVault has appointed Ashish Ambast as Chief Technology Officer to accelerate its in-house digital infrastructure and product innovation. With over 15 years of global technology experience, Ambast will lead backend scalability and automation initiatives. The move supports UrbanVault’s rapid expansion across major cities and its technology-first managed workspace strategy.

India’s managed and flexible workspace sector is entering a new phase where technology infrastructure is becoming a core differentiator. UrbanVault, one of the country’s fastest-growing operators, has announced the appointment of Ashish Ambast as Chief Technology Officer, reinforcing its focus on building proprietary digital platforms to support rapid scale and operational efficiency.

With enterprise clients increasingly expecting seamless workplace experiences, workspace providers are investing in automation, smart systems, and data-led operations. UrbanVault’s leadership move signals a clear shift toward product-driven growth and stronger backend architecture across its expanding portfolio.

Strengthening Digital Infrastructure and Product Ecosystems

In his new role, Ambast will lead innovation, platform engineering, and digital transformation initiatives across the organisation. His mandate includes scaling backend infrastructure, automating workflows, and developing tenant-focused technology solutions tailored to the managed workspace ecosystem.

UrbanVault has already implemented several in-house platforms, including a Visitor Management System, a Customer Review and Feedback System, and multiple operational tools designed to improve efficiency across centres. With stronger technology leadership, the company aims to accelerate platform integration and enhance the overall occupier experience.

The appointment reflects the growing importance of technology in flexible office operations, where automation and analytics are helping operators improve utilisation, reduce costs, and deliver consistent service quality across multiple locations.

Global Technology Experience Driving Innovation

Ambast brings over 15 years of global experience in backend architecture, system scalability, and product engineering. An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, he has previously worked with leading technology companies such as Yahoo and Microsoft, contributing to large-scale platform development and performance optimisation.

His experience in building scalable systems is expected to play a critical role as UrbanVault expands into new markets while maintaining operational consistency. Industry experts note that strong backend systems are becoming essential for workspace operators managing distributed portfolios and enterprise-grade clients.

Leadership Vision for Intelligent Workspaces

Commenting on the appointment, Amal Mishra, Founder and CEO of UrbanVault, said, “With Ashish joining as CTO, our focus on building UrbanVault’s technology in-house has become even sharper. We strongly believe the future of managed workspaces will be driven by intelligent systems, seamless experiences, and strong backend platforms.”

The statement highlights the company’s long-term strategy of building proprietary technology rather than relying solely on third-party tools, allowing greater customisation and scalability.

Rapid Portfolio Expansion Across India

UrbanVault currently manages approximately 2.80 million sq. ft. of workspace across more than 80 locations, covering major business hubs such as Bengaluru, Pune, Gurugram, and Mumbai. The company operates over 70,000 seats and continues to scale its managed office footprint across India.

With projected revenue expected to cross ₹200 crore in FY2025–26 and strong year-on-year growth momentum, UrbanVault is positioning itself as a technology-led workspace operator. As flexible offices evolve toward experience-driven environments, investments in digital infrastructure are likely to define the next wave of competitive advantage in the sector.
