away Centre, a wellness-forward coworking brand, has launched its newest hub in Bengaluru’s Koramangala, positioning itself as a human-scale alternative to mass-market flex operators. With sub-20,000 sq ft hubs, design-led spaces, meditation zones, cultural programming, and a “Nano-GCC” network vision, away aims to make workspaces about presence, community, and conscious growth.
A Wellness-Forward Entry into Bengaluru
away Centre, India’s pioneering wellness-forward coworking brand, has entered Bengaluru with a new hub in Koramangala, one of the city’s most active startup and creative neighbourhoods. Rooted in design, wellness, and culture, the brand is deliberately positioning itself as an antidote to scale-obsessed coworking models that often prioritise density over experience.
Instead of chasing ever larger campuses, away is built around human-scale hubs. Each Centre is capped at under 20,000 sq ft, a deliberate choice to keep spaces intimate, thoughtfully designed, and community-driven rather than anonymous or transactional.
Human-Scale Hubs, Not Mega Campuses
The Koramangala hub reflects this philosophy. It features natural light-filled layouts, generous work zones, and an integrated café front that opens out to both members and the neighbourhood. The intent is to blur the line between workspace and third place, making the Centre feel like part of the local fabric rather than a sealed-off corporate box.
“We’ve always believed coworking doesn’t need more square footage, it needs more soul,” said Udbhav Jalan, Founder, away Centre. “The industry scaled fast, and somewhere along the way, intention got replaced by occupancy dashboards. away brings back what truly matters: design that inspires, communities that care, and systems that build better teams, not just bigger offices.”
A New Vocabulary for Work and Wellbeing
Beyond layout, away is trying to reframe the language of workspace itself. The hub includes Stillness Rooms and Meditation Corners for focused, distraction-free work; Private Studios and Enterprise Suites for team-based operations; and Open Stations for individuals who prefer fluid seating.
At the Centre of this ecosystem is the Reset Bar, a multifunctional social and cultural zone. Here, members can pause between deep work sessions, socialise, or attend programmes that range from wellness activations to creative gatherings. The integrated café, open even to non-members, serves barista-crafted coffee and a wellness-aligned menu curated in partnership with Food Maki and Shooketh Bakery.
Programming That Treats Work as a Human Experience
Programming sits at the core of the away proposition. The Koramangala hub is anchored by weekly yoga sessions, daily meditations, and curated cultural evenings — from intimate acoustic performances to workshops focused on mental health and mindful productivity.
Members can also access executive coaches, therapists, and mindfulness mentors on demand, weaving mental wellbeing into the everyday office experience rather than treating it as a once-a-year offsite conversation. For founders and teams navigating the typical stresses of scaling, this type of embedded support is becoming a tangible workplace differentiator.
Building a “Nano-GCC” Network Across Emerging Cities
The Bengaluru launch follows away’s debut in Vizag earlier this year, with new hubs planned in Hyderabad, Gurgaon, and a second Vizag location by early 2026. Each operates on the company’s “Nano-GCC” model — a distributed network of small, autonomous teams in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, designed to give companies GCC-style capabilities without the overhead and rigidity of traditional large campuses.
By blending premium infrastructure with a conscious, culture-first approach, away Center is positioning itself as a mindful outlier in India’s flex-space landscape. In this place, work, wellness, and community are treated not as add-ons, but as the core operating system of the workspace.
