Westermo has launched its first office in India, located in Bengaluru, designed by Space Matrix to foster innovation, collaboration, and a strong team culture. The 10,000 sq. ft. workspace blends Swedish minimalism with Indian craftsmanship, aligning with Westermo’s growth in India’s transport, water, and energy sectors. The design reflects strategic intent and employee well-being.
Marking a new chapter in its Asia-Pacific expansion, Westermo, a global provider of industrial networking solutions, has opened its first office in India, located in Bengaluru. Designed in partnership with the leading workplace design firm, Space Matrix, the 10,000 sq. ft. facility, located at the Godrej Centre in Hebbal, reflects Westermo’s long-term commitment to the Indian market.
The office is more than just a workspace—it’s a physical embodiment of the company’s global ethos blended with local sensibilities. Developed in collaboration with Westermo’s Swedish branding team, the design brings together modern industrial aesthetics with Indian cultural nuances. Natural materials, such as wood and glass, are paired with tech-inspired patterns, while custom art panels depict key industries, including rail networks and renewable energy, alongside traditional Indian motifs.
“India is a pivotal market for Westermo, making this office a key milestone,” said Anith Anandan, MD of Westermo India. “We aimed for a workspace that transcends basic functionality—one that inspires creativity, fosters collaboration, and embodies our company’s values.”
Westermo specialises in rugged industrial Ethernet and data communication products, with a strong presence in sectors such as transportation, water management, and energy. With the new Bengaluru office, the company is positioned to deepen its footprint in India’s rapidly digitising infrastructure landscape. The move reflects Westermo’s strategy to enable digital transformation in mission-critical environments by staying close to talent and industry opportunities.
Akshay Lakhanpal, CEO of Space Matrix India, emphasised the strategic thinking behind the project. “Entering a new market requires a space that communicates the brand’s identity and fosters strong team culture. We designed this office to be a strategic asset—supporting collaboration and positioning Westermo as a regional innovation hub.”
Inside, the focus on employee experience is clear. Ergonomic seating, natural light, open-plan layouts, and dedicated collaborative zones foster an agile environment that encourages innovation to thrive. The fusion of Indian vibrancy—through colours, textures, and traditional patterns—with Scandinavian minimalism yields a workplace that’s culturally resonant yet future-ready.
This blend of design and strategy is designed to achieve long-term success. By offering a space that supports team interaction and workflow efficiency, Westermo is not just establishing a local presence—it is laying the groundwork for scalable, sustainable growth in one of its most promising markets.
With its Bengaluru office, Westermo sends a clear signal: India is not just another location—it’s a strategic hub, designed for collaboration, innovation, and long-term value creation.
